Beautiful Taehreh (Some Call It Red) from Calgary, Canada, challenged me to write a poem about love in ten lines, a challenge forwarded to her from a friend.
Here are her guidelines:
- Write about love using only 10 lines.
- Use the word love in every line.
- Each line can only be 4 words long.
- Nominate 10 or so others who are up for the challenge.
- Let them know about the challenge.
- Title the post, Love in Ten Lines.
- Include a quote about love. (This can be your own.)
- You may write in any language.
Here is my entry:
Love in Ten Lines
Love is not silent,
yet love is loud;
love is invisible, yet
love is a portrait;
head-over-heels love
makes moonlit romantic love
worth the troubles love
brings us; and, “Love
that springs love eternal
is the best love.”*

Actually, I love words so much that the challenges are always fun and intriguing. But, yes, i challenged myself to write it in under 30 minutes… and WON!

I’m the same way, haha. I take about any challenge I can. I love them! I have a hard time working on them for long periods of time though. It’s taken me 10 minutes at the most to write everything on my blog.

I hear you: write it and move on! Although, that pace while writing my CHEF TELL biography lasted almost two years! WHEW!

Haha yeah, I’m sure that took a lot longer. Did you write every day?

Yes, researched, interviewed and wrote/edited every day… and loved every minute, including the tough ones.

Ahh! You included the quote in the lines…. so sneaky! Brilliant! (Why didn’t I think of that? :))
You have written the kind of love that everyone dreams of having. Really touched me. So glad you took up the challenge, Ron! xoxo (and so wonderfully as I knew you would!)
